Larry Blackledge – Chief Executive Officer
Larry Blackledge has more than 25 years of semiconductor industry experience including 22 years at Texas Instruments (TI) most recently as General Manager and Vice President of a $400M mixed-signal IC business. Previously, Larry spent a decade in Asia managing TI’s Display Solutions and Bus Solutions businesses and guiding numerous successful merger and acquisition events. Since 2007, Larry has also been a Technology Business Management Advisor to The Longreach Group, a private equity firm in Asia. Larry holds an MBA in Marketing & Management from Amber University (Abilene Christian) in Dallas, Texas, and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Engineering from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, Illinois. He has also studied Japanese language at the Japan Language Institute in Tokyo.
David Briggs – Vice President & General Manager of Power Solutions & Worldwide Sales
David Briggs has 24 years of semiconductor industry experience ranging from design to global business management including 20 years with Texas Instruments where he held various business and technical roles. He worked with customers to understand their needs and mobilized TI’s development, operations, marketing, and sales resources to ensure success for both the customer and TI. David successfully drove businesses focused on Power Management and most recently Wireless Infrastructure. During his design career at TI, David provided solutions for automotive and power management applications and was elected Distinguished Member of Technical Staff. Prior to joining Active-Semi, David was a managing member/partner at VirtuWave providing IT solutions for businesses in the fast growing cloud computing market. David received his Bachelor’s degree from Clarkson University and his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Texas, Austin. David has 12 patents issued in the areas of semiconductor devices, ESD structures, and circuits.
Wayne Chen – Vice President of R&D, Operations and QRA
Wayne Chen has more than 25 years of semiconductor industry experience ranging from design, process development, and operations management. Prior to joining Active-Semi, Wayne spent five years at Triune Systems, a fabless semiconductor development company, where he served as VP of Technology, Operations Manager, and co-owner, having shared responsibilities for the day-to-day operations of the company, and development of a variety of integrated circuits. Prior to Triune Systems, Wayne was a Fellow at Texas Instruments where he spent 17 years, responsibilities included design and development of power integrated circuits (ICs) ranging from motion/motor control, power/battery management, communications and audio for the consumer, automotive, and medical market segments. He was elected TI Fellow in 2005 for his contributions in the area of power ICs. Wayne was also a design engineer at both Raytheon’s Radar System Laboratory in Tewksbury, MA, and International Microelectronic Products in Westboro, MA before joining TI in 1991. Wayne Chen received his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and his Masters of Business Administration from University of Texas, Austin. Wayne has over 25 patents issued and over 30 pending in the areas of semiconductor devices, ESD structures, circuits and systems.
Winston Fu – Chief Financial Officer
Winston Fu brings over two decades of company-building experience to Active-Semi. During Winston’s 14-year tenure as a general partner at U.S. Venture Partners (USVP), he served on boards of numerous high-growth companies, including, Box, Brion Technologies (acquired by ASML), Clear Shape (acquired by Cadence), New Focus (NUFO), and Teknovus (acquired by Broadcom). In addition, he co-led investments in many other companies, such as, CadMOS (acquired by Cadence), Sierra Monolithics (acquired by Semtech), Intermolecular (IMI), MaxLinear (MXL) and Mellanox (MLNX). Prior to joining USVP, Winston co-founded Vixel Corporation, which made its initial public offering in 1999 (NASDAQ: VIXL) and was subsequently acquired by Emulex (ELX) in 2003. Prior to launching Vixel, Winston published his research in the areas of multimedia, semiconductors, optoelectronics and superconductors at Intel, Stanford University, MIT, and Sandia National Laboratories. Winston holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from MIT, a Ph.D. in Applied Physics from Stanford University and an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management, where he was an Austin Scholar.
Dee Hunter – Vice President of Human Resources
Dee Hunter has more than 33 years of experience in Human Resources ranging from employee relations, diversity, development, staffing, communication and project management. Prior to joining Active-Semi, Dee was the HR Manager for the Finance & Operations organization at Texas Instruments. In this role Dee was responsible for developing and implementing worldwide people strategies. Examples include developing and implementing the training curriculum for Finance managers and supervisors in the US, influencing comp decisions to ensure comp philosophy was being followed and the right decisions were being made across the organization to retain talent, performed semi-annual talent management reviews to help drive succession planning and development decisions for key talent within Finance worldwide, generated monthly workforce analysis for management visibility to attrition, diversity and staffing needs, counselled and coached managers on employment decisions, handled employee complaints and issues. Dee received a BS degree in Marketing and Management from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana and a Master’s degree in Human Resources from Houston Baptist University.
